Update from LA

New York was incredible. It was great to see my family, and hang with friends back east. I really love Manhattan. The coolest part is it's pretty much how I left it too... The east village is my favorite. Really cool vibe all around. This is right where I used to live, on 5th st. and Avenue A.

Now we are back in our west coast residence once again. We've been out in LA about 6 months now. Presently we are getting ready for tour and gearing up for the big summer ahead. We have over 50 total shows opening up for Jonas Brothers... It is going to be AMAZING! We will travel to TX for rehearsals and then kick off the tour on June 20th. The ground we are covering is quite substantial. I wonder how many total miles we will have logged by the end of summer???

Hmm... Maybe you can help me figure that one out...

Looking forward to seeing everyone on the road and rocking out HS style! You know how we bring the party to you, and we will bring it to EVERY town all summer long. See you there :)

Fiesta

Friday night was so awesome! Thank you to everyone who came out and partied... or should I say had a FIESTA with us. We had a great time hanging with everyone after the show as well. It's always very gratifying for us to be able to meet you guys up close after the show, and hear how you liked the show. We love what we do, and we do it all for you. Here's some video clips from the night.

'More than words' with our friend Frankie J.

'Don't close the book' we brought out two fans to help us sing the song.

San Diego, let's do this...

We are now on the eve of our BIG show at San Diego House of Blues! It's going to be a party.. fiesta.. rocking and rolling show that will make you dance all night. We are seriously stoked. AND we have KSM and Ruby Summer opening the show. They are good friends of ours that we are SO happy to be playing with. (Also look out for Frankie J to make a special appearance). As you probably know, last weekend we invaded SD and hung out with some awesome fans (see post below). Here's the video documenting that epic day.

Fashion Valley & Mission Beach

We had the best time this weekend hanging out in San Diego. First up was Fashion Valley mall where we played a secret acoustic show outdoors, right near the back entrance to the mall. It was a lot of fun, and we really enjoyed playing for our California fans. (Especially since everyone was singing along with us to all the songs!) We had a great time. Also we went into Dlush (a beverage joint) in the food court. We helped out the workers selling some blended drinks as we greeted fans and took pics/signed some autographs. Here's a video of a new song called 'Full Moon Crazy' that we were playing acoustically for the very first time.

Next up we headed over to Mission Beach. We tweeted on the way and met up with some more fans right near the roller coaster and amusement area. Then we grabbed a bite to eat before heading to the rollar dance party area. We got to play some of our music (that is recorded but not released yet) and danced and partied right near the boardwalk. Then we walked over to the beach area and took an awesome class photo to cap off the day.

Weekend trip to San Diego

Okay we are heading back to the great city of San Diego this Saturday. Our first time around was pretty amazing, so I am expecting another epic adventure. We're going to play an acoustic show at a location we will let you know about via twitter. I am so pumped for the House of Blues show in only one week! Here's the video we made announcing our trip this weekend...

There's a new Snuggie in town

Ok, I understand that Snuggie's were invented to keep your arms warm while going through everyday life without getting tangled up in a blanket. I get it. You might want to stay warm while doing such things as: answering the telephone, or changing the channel on your tv, or even just eating some popcorn.
So the Snuggie came along and filled a niche that needed to be filled. Recently though, I was amazed to find a new addition to the Snuggie family. As if the absurdity of the original Snuggie wasn't enough to keep you guessing at why and how someone could ever dream up of making someone look so utterly ridiculous, the brains behind the original blanket with sleeves brings you this wonder of invention. Take a look and ponder with me the motivation. I mean really!? Am I being Punk'd!?

Creative Recreation

Recently me and the Honor Society guys have been sporting some sick new kicks. We've become big fans of Creative Recreation shoes. They have some innovative styles and designs. Their kicks are straight fire. Take a look at some of them on their website. We visited them recently and got some fresh new styles that you will be seeing on our feet in the months to come, and throughout the summer (on tour). Here's a pic of me and Andy at the Creative Recreation offices in Los Angeles.

House of Blues Phase II

Wow! LA House of Blues was completely electric! SO amazing, I left the night just on a cloud, like I was floating or something. The energy coming from the crowd was phenominal. It really propelled us to give a great performance. We loved that everyone was with us, singing, as one together. It was a special moment. We really had the time of our lives. Everyone we've met out here has helped make this coast feel like home. We partied together. It was epic.

But now we move into Phase II... We set out on a quest to visit our dear friend Dan Siego. He wrote us a letter asking us to visit (see video below). He also started texting, saying how much he missed us. So we are going head out to San Diego and play the House of Blues. We are pumped for the show because we played the Sports arena back in November,so it's been a little while, we are finally coming back to rock SD again!

We don't play shows... we throw parties.

San Diego will be a fiesta.

Röyksopp

Röyksopp are an electronic rock duo from Norway. I got into them a few years ago through a friend from Europe. Their new album, "Junior," is truly sublime. Here's a video for the first single.

Many of their songs are used in TV and Film. One of them was featured in a memorable Geico commercial. The song is called "Remind Me" From the album Melody A.M.

Island in the sun

Puerto Rico was beautiful. The air was tropical from the moment we stepped off the plane. We got to the hotel and ate quickly, then head to our web chat.. (it was fun, we sang tv show themes haha) after that we got some ice cream and sat on a deck near the ocean. We watched the waves crash onto the rocks.

The next day we woke up and head out to the gig. The show was awesome! PR fans really know how to get into the music! They are passionate people. We had a blast playing for them and cannot wait to return for another show :)

The shinning star

Tomorrow morning, bright and early, we leave for Puerto Rico. We're playing a show on Sunday with our friends the JB's. It's going to be great. I've never been to PR so I decided to find some fun facts:

-The island is also popularly known as "La Isla del Encanto", which translated means "The Island of Enchantment."

-Puerto Rico is composed of an archipelago

-In 1917, the Jones-Shafroth Act granted Puerto Ricans US citizenship

-Puerto Rico participated in the World Baseball Classic

Well there's just a few things to digest. It's pretty cool that it's called the 'Island of Enchantment.' That really makes me excited to see what it will be like! I will be taking pictures, so will be posting those as soon as I can.

1901

Phoenix is a really cool French band I have been into for a few years. Their sound incorporates electro-dance, (that fellow French band Air employ, who's song was used in Lost in Translation, one of my favorite movies ever), but at the core they are a rock/blues band. Check out their new single. You may want to get up and dance.

On any given day...

Here's a sneak peak behind the scenes on a typical day for us. Many hours you will find us behind our laptops crushing the inter-web. (Usually on myspace commenting fans). Case in point this shot, taken recently at our apartment.

JR as MJ

Many of you may have recently seen some pictures, posted by Mike Bruno on his blog, of himself dressed up like Michael Jackson. Well turns out, he is not the only member of Honor Society to have dressed up like the King of Pop. When I was in kindergarten (at Little Tor Elementary School in lovely New City, NY) I performed in the talent show as MJ, and did a full on dance to 'Billie Jean.' I don't remember much about the actual performance, but from what my mom has told me I was very determined, and apparently I watched the music video for the song a million times and choreographed a routine myself! Below you will find two pictures from that evening.

*Notice the bow-tie and sequined glove. Special thanks to Stephanie Rosen (my awesome mom) for helping sew all the sequins.

Early beginnings

My parent's did a phenomenal job of recording almost every event in my early childhood. We have countless hours of talent shows, Halloween parties, backyard neighborhood hang outs.. You name it, we have a video footage of it!

Recently my father dug through the archives and found some video of me as a youngster jamming out on my toy guitar. There is also some of me rocking the trumpet (which I started playing in 4th grade). Here's the video that shows you exactly what I'm talking about:

Special thanks to Jack Rosen (my dad) for putting this video together.
